Ierapetra which is Europe's southernmost town on the island's south east coast. It lies by the coastal road from Ierapetra (1 km) to Makrighialos (25 kms).

Besides the beauty of nature, the area also provides the highest temperatures and the highest number of sunny days in Europe and therefore during both the summer and the winter is a most popular holiday site for sun lovers.
